we stole our new lives
there were calls coming in from new york, paris, china. everyone was trying to get ahold of her at one time, and there wasn't enough charlotte to go around. she couldn't fill out orders, listen to her friends in new york complain about the sudden change in style in the magazines, and design her clothes.
not to mention her mother had called her, when are you comin' home for a while? we miss you. which is another way for saying 'i want some clothes, and you know know what size i wear.' charlotte had a way to get free clothes from designers who served champagne in their stores in new york. she was best friends with many people and she could get the inside access to all clothes that came off the runway, just cause she was a designer as well.
"where he fuck are you!? i need my coffee, and i need you to handle all these fucking phone calls." she hung up and sat on the couch, her head spinning. she hated yelling at her assistant, but she was always late, and the girl couldn't remember where the condos where were they were staying. "i'm so sorry... i got lost, and... here, take your coffee, and i'll handle this." jen, her assistant, was calm as ever, and charlotte looked at her, jen, i'm sorry. i'm just stressed... don't- don't listen to what i said. thanks for taking the calls." charlotte was civil, she was just annoyed by her mother and the phone.
'i think i need to go out...' she thought as she stared at her bedroom ceiling. it was a friday night, she knew no one in the whole city, and jen could use the night off. charlotte swung her legs off the side of the bed, sitting up and walking out of the bedroom and into the living room that had been transformed to an office/designing studio. there were pictures scattered on the walls, three laptops, and two desktops were set up, plus an HP touch screen designer's edition computer. her mother had bought that thing for her, and charlotte liked it, but she would rather draw her designs. it was more personal. jen, you are free to roam. go out, and have a personal night. actually... now that i think about it, take off the weekend. i'm gonna go have fun and take a break.
so jen bought herself a round trip ticket to go home and see her fiance, and charlotte had the whole condo to herself. she straightened up the studio, then walked into the shower. it was nice and she knew that for once she was going to have a guilt free night.
the club was pulsing. it was alive with music and people. she hadn't been to a real club like this one in so long, and she was surprised she had found the place. the bar was long and lit up underneath to let a blue glow entrance her and she looked at he bartender. uh, get me... a vodka and redbull. she said, looking around the club. she smiled as she saw a group of friends all dancing together, and she wished she had her friends here, though they had annoyed her with their complaining, she missed them all.
it had been a long time since charlotte had had sex. she was what people say 'sexually frusterated', and was looking for any guy that would catch her eye. there was many. she scanned the room, and she got many winks, and nods. but she noticed a guy who seemed like he was a bouncer watching everything happening in the club from the side, and she knew he was gonna be the one she was gonna talk to. charlie gulped her drink down, getting another one from the bartender, and slowly walking towards him.
she couldn't help it. he was gorgeous, and she didn't look at any other guy in the room. he would probably blow her off, he was working duh, and she would go find another guy. but he was too cute to let the opportunity up.
